Alert: A New Cybersecurity Threat Looming in the Internet Age
“Everybody hates it [child porn]. You can’t go wrong investigating and getting a conviction in these cases. It’s one of the mom-and-apple-pie issues that everybody wants to get a piece of.” – Rick Lougee, a Tucson defense lawyer who specializes in sex-crime cases. When every innocent internet user would be one part of “mom-and-apple-pie” above, the public deserves the alert that a new cybersecurity threat looms in the Internet age – the threat of improper prosecutions and wrongful convictions related with the DIGITAL child porn files. Everyone is at risk. In a non-material realm where all digital data can be easily fabricated and transferred, what’s to prevent hackers from framing innocent people with the digital child porn files?
In many years, the courts have struck down many federal and state laws (e.g. 18 Pennsylvania Statutes § 7330(2002) aiming for removing or disabling access to child porn sites on internet. It has actually promoted to form an unfair legal system that the unlawful child porn files “lawfully” exist, transit and disseminate on the internet in our country.
These offenses can be committed by hacking which is a relatively easy and usually untraceable way to plant fake information. Around $600 per job “was in the normal range of what hackers demand for character assassination” – Professor Paulo Shakarian, the director of the Cyber-Socio Intelligent Systems Laboratory at Arizona State University.
77-years-old Weiwu Zhao, who does not speak English is an innocent defendant/victim. On November 1, 2017, Weiwu Zhao was wrongly convicted of “knowingly possessing” and “knowingly disseminating” the 14 digital child porn files by the jurors who do not understand computer technology in Northampton County Court of Common Pleas, PA. Mr. Zhao stated he had NEVER downloaded, uploaded, saved, copied and viewed any child porn files, he had NEVER known any of the alleged 14 child porn files in the target PC tower, and he has NEVER known when and who downloaded, uploaded, saved, copied and viewed any of the alleged 14 child porn files in the target PC tower. The defense experts have found many flaws in the police evidence.
Because Mr. Zhao’s daughter had serious domestic disputes with her husband, Mr. Zhao had to decide to give away everything in where they were comfortable, but give all of his life, stay temporarily in Easton, PA 18042 to save his daughter and granddaughters. However, it irritated son-in-law’s family. On November 20,2014, Mr. Zhao’s son-in-law’s family and their friends openly announced: “Talk about illegal aliens walking all over Americans [however Mr. Zhao’s family members are all citizens and lawful permanent residents] !! But I must say — LET THE GAMES BEGIN !!!!!!!!!!!! … Same thing happened to my Father with a lady from Okinawa”.
The legal officials who are assigned to this case, are directly connected to the son-in-law’s family as well as that family’s close friends, showing a clear conflict of interest.
A rally will be on March 9 2018 at 12:00 for cybersecurity awareness and for justice for innocent 77-years-old Mr. Zhao. Today Mr. Zhao, tomorrow us. We call for all the internet users, who would become next “Mr. Zhao”, to join this rally at 12:00 and participle the hearing on new evidence at 13:00.
(address: Northampton County Court of Common Pleas, PA. 669 Washington Street, Easton, PA 18042).
People from NJ, NY, PA, CT, OH, D.C. are planing to joinin this rally.
We also urge PA Attorney General to assign an independent investigator with no preconceived notions at all and find out what happened.
